Lung cancer patients taking Rova-T as a frontline treatment didn't live longer than those on placebo, prompting a data committee to recommend AbbVie halt the study. After failures in second- and third-line settings, AbbVie decided to ditch Rova-T altogether, even though it had paid billions to acquire the drug in 2016.
