| Cypress Mountain announces major snowmaking expansion and
other improvements for the 2017/18 Winter Season! Snowmaking Expansion: We have started a major snowmaking expansion project! Our “phase 4” snowmaking expansion will bring snowmaking right up to the top of Collins ski run (top of the Lions Express chairlift). This 1.2 million dollar investment will include 5 new snow guns and 18 new hydrant locations and will be completed in time for the 2017/18 winter season. This new addition will allow us to open more terrain earlier in the season!
“This expansion will give us top to bottom snowmaking on Collins ski run, allowing us to open our most popular terrain in the early season as well as have the ability to refresh the slopes on an ongoing basis.” Russell Chamberlain, President and General Manager New Gladed Terrain: At the beginning of the summer we gladed the area known as “Sunshine Face” located on the skiers right lower half of Top Gun. This will provide advanced skiers and riders with new double black diamond terrain to explore.
Nordic Area: The Hollyburn Lodge renewal project is complete and the newly built Hollyburn Lodge will be fully open for our cross country ski and snowshoe guests! We have also installed a brand new webcam in the Nordic area for live updates on current conditions. |
