Each week, I see hundreds of kids come to our farmers market to meet farmers and roll up their sleeves for a free cooking class using fresh fruits and veggies. They connect the face of a farmer with what they are eating, and they are inspired to try so many new types of produce.
But more importantly, they are becoming environmental thinkers, because you can't learn about food without thinking about the people who grow it, the resources it requires, and what it does for your body and the planet.
You and I know that slowing (and ultimately reversing) the effects of our changing climate depends on supporting ecological farmers, who care for the earth and our community's health. A sustainable food future also depends on investing in our kids--the eaters, farmers, and changemakers of tomorrow--to carry that vision into the future.
Since we wrote you this morning, we are just $1,350 away from our #GivingTuesday fundraising goal of $2,500.
Thank you for doing your part!
