UMass Memorial exploring new psych hospital | |
Two months after announcing it plans to cut the number of beds an inpatient acute psychiatric unit by about 50 percent, UMass Memorial Health Care proposed a new, 120-bed psychiatric hospital. The hospital would cost between $18 million and $20 million to build and open by early 2019. It would be located in an office building at 100 Century Drive in Worcester.
| SeaChange loses $24M | |
SeaChange International of Acton lost almost $24 million in the fourth quarter, a continuation of a difficult financial period. The company also eliminated over 200 jobs earlier this year. Product revenue was higher, but overall revenue remained down. The company hopes to return to profitability within the current fiscal year.
| Grocery access scarce in Worcester neighborhoods | |
Several Worcester neighborhoods, mostly on the east side, are considered lacking easy access to grocery stores, according to the Massachusetts Public Health Association.
