Lift up or leave

Some 1,750 Baton Rouge homeowners inundated in the '16 floods are about to get some letters bearing tough news — news that should've been shared a lot sooner.

The message? That they may need to lift their homes, sell them to the government to be demolished or figure out some other way to protect their property against future flooding.

David Mitchell's got the scoop.


Better late than never?

A box of evidence linked to a double homicide turned up six years later and just two months before the first trial in the case is set to begin. 

Despite its late arrival, prosecutors say they still think the case can stay on schedule. 


Dog in the fight

After finding a house full of caged fighting dogs in "deplorable" condition, East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies arrested a man on several counts of animal cruelty.
