OUR AMBITION | OUR WORK | GET INVOLVED | We've all heard about ice sheets and glaciers melting as the impacts of climate change accelerate. Every year, we continue to see unwanted records being broken. This year alone, Greenland has lost enough ice to raise the average global sea level by more than a millimetre. Accelerating changes in the oceans and cryosphere – the Earth's snow and ice-covered places – are some of the most dramatic consequences of the climate crisis. But while many people across the world think that what happens in the Arctic or Greenland doesn't impact them, the reality is that we're all connected – from land to sea, from Asia to Antarctica, and from America to Africa. Last week, the UN revealed that, as ice sheets and glaciers melt, rapid sea-level rise could affect one billion people by 2050. We must sharply cut emissions to give people and nature more time to adapt, and coastal ecosystems like mangroves and salt marshes can be part of the solution too. It's time for everyone to listen to the science. Please help us get world leaders to secure a New Deal for Nature and People that protects and restores nature by 2030.
