Step 1: Choose a Method

• Use a homeschool curriculum that provides a ready-made scope & sequence. We’ve made this option even more convenient by putting together all the science supplies for the year’s lab activities in our pre-made lab kits - these align with many of the curricula we sell and are available by grade.
• Or, you can build your own curriculum based on your child’s interests and level.
• Another option is to use an online or distance-learning course.

Step 2: Gather Your Supplies

• If you’re not purchasing a curriculum lab kit, look ahead in your curriculum and make a shopping list of all the materials you’ll need for the experiments. Can you use already-on-hand household items for some experiments?
• Do you need to buy any lab equipment or supplies?
• Are you shopping for more than one student, such as for a co-op? (Tip: Look for quantity discounts on many of our items!)

Step 3: Encourage Your Children

Teach them to use a science notebook. It’s perfect for drawing, doodling, collecting, and making observations during experiments. (Not only is a notebook good scientific practice, it’s also fun to re-live all the things you've learned together at the end of the year!)
