With the flu season breaking records, pediatricians are seeing huge traffic in their offices. Beyond making sure kids get a flu shot, Dr. Shilpa Patel, a pediatrician in Rockleigh, New Jersey, says one of her big tips for parents is to stop kissing their children on the face. Instead, kiss the back of their heads, especially when it comes to newborns and younger babies. “If you are going to be sick, you're contagious three days before you get your cold symptoms,” Patel warned.
