INDUSTRY NEWS: Hilton announced new “upscale lifestyle” brand Tempo by Hilton to media and developers at an event at Manhattan’s Union West event space. The brand has 60 deals in development with confirmed locations in New York, Washington, Maui, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Atlanta, and other cities across the U.S. Hilton worked with Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global to create morning and bedtime rituals in its guest room “Power Up” and “Power Down” zones and developed its F&B concepts with Blau & Associates. Brand standards call for meeting space on the lobby level, designed to be flexible and double as public space when not in use. ATLANTA: Château Élan Winery and Resort completed a $25 million renovation. The redesign is the first major renovation since its inception in the mid-1980s. The venue now spans 40,000 square feet and has four new restaurants as well as 251 guestrooms and 24 suites. LOS ANGELES: NVE Experience Agency has hired veteran PR pro Brian Rubin as vice president of communications, a newly created role based in Los Angeles. Rubin previously led a special events division at PMK-BNC. Also at NVE, Sarah Zimmerman has been promoted to vice president of production, and Lauren Kehoe has been promoted to vice president of creative services. MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Savoy Hotel in Miami Beach announced a multimillion-dollar renovation. The property, which has been open since 1935, features a new lobby, two-acre pool area, and 31 renovated suites. NEW YORK: Screenwriter, producer, and director Ryan Murphy will be honored at the 31st annual Glaad Media Awards on March 19. The ceremony will be held at the Hilton Midtown, where Murphy will receive the Vito Russo Award. |
