Where's Johnny Jet?

Greetings! If you're following me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or Periscope, you know that my dad and I had a fantastic time in Florida. The trip was a belated birthday present so he could see some friends and get some sun. We stayed at the new Delray Sands Hotel, which is in Highland Beach about 50 minutes (without traffic) north of Miami International Airport, 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) and 20 minutes from West Palm Beach (PBI). The hotel is located right on the beach so even if you don’t stay there, you should definitely check out their Latitudes restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner as they serve excellent food and you sure can’t beat the views.

Miami to Los Angeles
Flights are so cheap between Miami and Los Angeles that American Airlines has been selling tickets for $114—including for same-day travel! I paid $128 a week before, which was still a great deal. To put the price in perspective: Miami to LA is 2,300 miles and it cost less than the car service I arranged for my dad to go from Connecticut to LaGuardia Airport, which is only 42 miles!
10 Uber Tips When Traveling or at Home
Speaking of car services, I’m a huge fan of Uber. In fact, I’ve taken over 100 Ubers in over a dozen countries and on four continents. Not only have they cut my transportation costs down by almost 40% (when using uberX), but they’ve also made it so much easier for me to arrange a ride. No more waiting on hold, giving out my address or standing out in the street to hail a taxi. However, Uber occasionally pisses me off and I’ve come close to missing flights because of the quirks of the system. So, to make sure you don’t miss a flight and to help make your travels smoother, here are 10 Uber tips that will totally improve your next experience.
Los Angles to Cuba
When we landed at LA, we were just in time to see the Los Angeles mayor cut the ribbon for the first LAX to Cuba flight. You can read all about the new non-stop service to Havana here.
Gifts ideas for travelers
Christmas is less than 10 days away! If you haven’t bought your favorite traveler a gift, these three stories will give you some ideas for every budget:

The best travel gift
One unique gift I didn’t include but should have is a Flytographer photoshoot. My wife and I have used them now in Hawaii and Paris. Instead of using a selfie stick or having a stranger take a crooked picture of you, you can hire a professional photographer for 30-90 minutes for the best souvenir ever. The photo above was taken 10 days ago in Paris by Goncalo for Flytographer. Read more about them here.

I bet your favorite traveler will also love Scottevest’s multiple hidden pockets because they not only keep valuables safe, but can also act as extra carry-ons! I'm a huge fan and use their products every time I travel. Check out the latest line, including the jacket I always carry with me this time of year, on this page.
