When interviewing, ask questions to determine if you are good fit for the company's culture, and don't be afraid to personalize the conversation. "You might find something that a potential coworker tells you to be heartfelt or meaningful, but unless you communicate that with your body language and vocal tone, they won't know you feel that way," writes Diane Wong.

A consumer survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York shows expectations for the job market are brightening, with many respondents saying they expect to be offered a job in the next four months. The survey notes a tendency for workers to shift jobs more often, while expectations of higher wages have increased sharply in the past 12 months.
The number of unfilled job openings at the end of July stood at 10.9 million, outnumbering the 8.7 million people who were out of work and seeking employment, according to Labor Department data. "Even if demand slows down or even falters, job seekers remain in a relatively favorable bargaining position," Indeed economist Nick Bunker said.
