Congressional maps subject of new lawsuit

Congressional map fight

The fight over Louisiana's congressional maps isn't over. A coalition of civil rights groups have filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming that a map adopted by the Legislature unfairly dilutes Black voting strength. Lawmakers this week rejected Gov. John Bel Edwards' rejection of the map. 


Death penalty lawsuit dropped

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging Louisiana's execution methods, but it doesn't put the state any closer to carrying out a lethal injection. Louisiana still cannot find any execution drugs.
