FRISCO, TEXAS:Omni Hotels & Resorts has announced two executive appointments for the upcoming Omni PGA Frisco Resort. Jeff Smith is the new vice president and managing director, and Gus Tejeda is the new director of sales and marketing. The resort, which is slated to open in Spring 2023 in partnership with PGA of America and the City of Frisco, will offer 127,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
INDIO, CALIF: Coachella is now offering an NFT collection that includes 10 lifetime passes to the buzzy music festival. Organizers have partnered with cryptocurrency exchange FTX to auction one of 10 “Coachella Keys,” plus two other Coachella NFT collections. NFT buyers will also get in-festival perks like front-row seats, celebrity dinners and more. Bidding opens on Friday.
LAS VEGAS: Las Vegas venue AREA15 has launched LIFTOFF, a unique activity experience where guests climb into a 16-seat gondola that rises 130 feet in the air, offering panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip. Before boarding, riders can choose from a selection of beer, wine and cocktails, as well as alcohol-free options. In addition, an adjacent open-air lounge can be booked for events.
MAMMOTH, CALIF: The 20th annual Elevation Mammoth Gay Ski Week, the largest series of gay ski weeks in the world, will return from March 16-20. The five-day event will feature apres-ski events, dance parties, a comedy night, drag performances, a costume ski race, internationally known DJs, wine tasting and more.
MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Kicking off Black History Month, the Historic Hampton House Museum & Cultural Center in Miami is featuring an exhibition of Raymond Elman’s 40-by-60 inch, mixed-media portraits of people who were patrons or performers at the Historic Hampton House during the 1960s. Each portrait has a QR code with video storytelling by people in the portraits, such as Khalilah Ali, the wife of Muhammad Ali.
