Menu Tracker: New items from Dunkin, Dutch Bros, and Caribou Coffee

It’s holiday beverage season, as we can see from a bunch of seasonal drinks from Caribou Coffee, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Dunkin, Dutch Bros, and more.

North Italia has a giant new roster of autumnal menu items, First Watch has items honoring the flavors of the season as well as the green chile harvest, and Fogo de Chão has a couple of new items for its Market Table. Check out Jack in the Box’s Monster Taco, introduced on October and has proven to be popular enough to earn its place on the menu boards at least until Nov. 20, and Twin Peaks has a new steak.

The 11 restaurant chains with the best ambiance

Ambiance is one quality that market research firm Datassential polls consumers on for the annual Consumer Picks report.

Here, Nation’s Restaurant News has pulled out the 11 restaurant chains with the best ambiance, according to consumers. The percentages correlate to the number of consumers rating the brands “best in class” or “above average” on ambiance. Ten of the companies on this list are full service, showing that family dining and casual dining are on the comeback. Find out which ones are the best:

Extra Serving podcast, NRN editors Holly Petre, Sam Oches and Leigh Anne Zinsmeister speak about the earnings palooza.

Several brands reported this week and last, including but not limited to Shake Shack, McDonald’s, Brinker International, Bloomin’ Brands, Restaurant Brands International, Noodles & Company, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. There were themes that stood out to the editors, and they discussed them on the pod along with some learnings from the earnings calls. From CEOs to COOs, the C-suite at various companies saw movement during the creepiest month of the year. Last month, two restaurant companies named new CEOs — dirty soda brand Swig and fast-casual taco chain Tijuana Flats. Arby’s named a former Buffalo Wild Wings executive to its C-suite, keeping that person in the Inspire Brands family.
