There's been a lot of talk lately about the New York exodus, think pieces about how, after this, the city might never be the same. But as a lifelong New Yorker, I've seen the city on its worst days (and it has had some bad ones), and it has only made me more loyal to this wonderful, diverse, kooky, gritty, gorgeous place. It also reassures me that it will be back. Despite being the hardest-hit city in the country by the coronavirus, New York has always shown its true colors under pressure. Sure, there's a pause on so many things we relate to the "NYC experience" - Broadway shows, museums, dining out, the nightlife - but even now, especially now, there are so many reasons to love it here.
