12 elk dead after falling through icy lake in Northern Michigan, DNR says

DNR conservation officers say the incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday when an elk-hunting guide reported that 12 elk had fallen through the ice on Crapo Lake, a 92-acre lake located about 20 miles northeast of Grayling in Otsego County.
