Hello everyone and happy short weekend!Okay, it’s only shortened by one hour, but springing ahead to daylight saving time seems to throw me off. Besides, it doesn’t exactly help to conserve fuel now as it did 100 years ago. Could this be the last time Texas springs ahead? Bills have been filed in the state Legislature that would do away with daylight saving time, and we’d just stick to one time year ‘round. There’s talk of calling it Texas Time. If I had to pick one time or the other, I’d probably pick daylight saving time and enjoy more light in the evenings. Something called UltraFICO will launch this summer and could help people with poor credit history or even no credit history get access to a first credit card or a loan. READ: Low credit score? Here are tips to boost it That’s because it looks at your banking history, not just your borrowing history. The system has its critics concerned about privacy and making credit to easy for people to get and therefore get in over their heads. UltraFICO is a system you’d opt into if you think it would help you. While you’re changing your clocks (at least the one on the microwave), here are two more reminders: Change your smoke detector batteries and get your free credit reports from Annualcreditreport.com.
