NATIONAL: Riot Games has announced that the 2022 edition of the League of Legends World Championship will take place in New York, Toronto, Mexico City and San Francisco. The brand’s first-ever multicountry tour of its annual esports competition will be the first to take place in North America since 2016. The 2021 edition wrapped up earlier this month in Reykjavk, Iceland; the monthlong tournament featured no fans in attendance.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Bill Hansen Catering has acquired Alexander Event Catering, which has been providing off-site catering service for events in South Florida for nearly two decades, as well as Different Look Tabletop Rentals, a wholesale event rental company specializing in luxury tabletop curation and design. Both companies will continue to operate under their own names, while also receiving expertise, guidance and support from the Bill Hansen team.

NEW YORK: The Glasshouse is now open at 660 12th Avenue. The 75,000-square-foot event space, a sister venue to Glasshouse Chelsea, has a versatile layout that holds as many as 1,850 people for events. Features include high ceilings, marble flooring, high-speed elevators, on-site security, canopy travertine walls and mood lighting. 

PALM SPRINGS, CALIF: The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that Jennifer Hudson is the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for her performance in Respect. The Film Awards will take place in person on Jan. 6 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running through Jan. 17. The event will be presented by American Express and sponsored by Entertainment Tonight.

WASHINGTON, DC: Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington will host DC Cocktail Week from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5. The event celebrates local cocktail culture at more than 50 restaurants across the metropolitan region, offering food and drink pairings for one set price. Additional special events throughout the week include cocktail-making classes, dinners and a date-night package.
