Situational awareness - October 23, 2018

Good Tuesday morning from Salt Lake City. The 2018 midterm elections are just two weeks from today.

I'm back from a weekend in Los Angeles at Politicon #4. The convention was filled with panel discussions, political personalities and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk threatening to fight Cenk Uygur from The Young Turks. Can't wait to see what Politicon #5 holds next year.

The 2018 midterm elections are just two weeks away. There's still time to make your picks in our 2018 Election Challenge. We've got a $50 Amazon gift card for the winner - http://bit.ly/2Ed4dhj

Executive summary: Utahns are optimistic about the direction the state is heading but less positive about the direction of the U.S. as a whole. There's a good reason Mia Love is trying to tie Ben McAdams to Nancy Pelosi. President Trump proposes a tax cut for middle-income earners ahead of the midterms, but can't explain how he would accomplish that.
