AI Will Drive Every Part of The Auto Business

Ford is already applying artificial intelligence to autonomous driving, manufacturing and logistics, now it is launching a new reserach group to apply AI to its Global Data and Analytic team's support for sales, marketing and finance, to drive smarter decision making and more personalized experiences.

Securing The Internet of Things

It is no surprise that cyber security firm Trend Micro is launching a new $100 million corporate fund to invest in Internet of Things startups. Research firm Gartner forecasts that 8.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide in 2017, up 31% from 2016. Ensuring that these devices can't be hacked will be key.

Tech Is Redefining Medical Visits

Swedish startup KRY raised a 20 million round of funding to grow its on-demand video-call-a-doctor business, the latest example of how digital consultations are being used as a form of triage to ease strain on national health care systems. In future AI-based services are expected to play a growing role in automated diagnosis, support and advice in healthcare.
