Colin Allred honored Damar Hamlin’s “fighting spirit” and celebrated his inspiring perseverance and recovery. The 24-year-old Hamlin collapsed after tackling a Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver on Jan. 2. What was said: Rep. Owens said: “Damar Hamlin’s fighting spirit and his faith inspired all Americans. His miraculous recovery has reminded us of the power of prayer. He has been in the prayers of millions over the last two weeks, his teammates, his opponents.” Rep. Allred said via Twitter: "Football brings us together, something we could learn a thing or two about here in Congress. @HamlinIsland’s perseverance in his recovery has been an inspiration to the whole country, and I was proud to honor him today with my colleague @RepBurgessOwens on the House floor."
