Deal With It At the beginning of the pandemic, essential workers were lauded as heroes. But since then, they've largely been left out of conversation about working during COVID. The refrains from earlier on in the pandemic ― that “we’re all in this together” or “in the same boat” ― couldn’t be further from the truth, said Courtney Keim, an associate professor who studies organizational wellness at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.
“We aren’t all in the same boat,” she told HuffPost. “We are all in the same storm, but some of us are in yachts, some of us are in big boats and some of us are in rafts barely tied together.”
