Bitcoin price is continues to float above $19,000 as the Federal reserve nears the committee meeting to reveal its latest interest rate hike.

Japanese investment banking giant Nomura has announced a crypto venture capital unit, called Laser Venture Capital – its first product launched under its new digital assets business.

Laser Venture Capital will invest in blockchain infrastructure, decentralized finance (DeFi), centralized finance (CeFi) and Web3. In addition to the VC unit, Nomura also plans to have two further product launches in the near future, involving secondary trading and investor products.

The European Union has finalized the full text of its Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) legislation, with a leaked draft being verified by CoinDesk.

The framework will set standards such as requiring crypto asset issuers to publish whitepapers with technical roadmaps, platforms to register with the appropriate authorities, and stablecoin issuers to hold full reserves.

A new development is that fractionalized NFTs may be subject to regulation, whereas it was previously thought that NFTs as a whole were excluded from the MiCA framework.

Digital Bank "FV Bank" has announced that it will enable account holders to make direct deposits in USD Coin (USDC), the circle-backed stablecoin.

Funds deposited to FV Bank in the form of USDC will be converted to US dollars at the moment of deposit, in a move that FV hopes will "enhance the user experience and open up more frictionless commerce."
