From fresh produce being plowed under to unharvested crops sitting untouched in fields, fruit and vegetable growers are the latest agriculture sector facing fallout from COVID-19.

Applications for the 2020 award are due by April 30.

“My sources say, almost in unison, that they [USDA] really dropped the ball relative to that pay cap language,” Jim Wiesemeyer said.

U.S. Farm Report meteorologist Mike Hoffman says the U.S. could see some weak storm systems this week that could push farmers out of the field.
