Pupsicle: Manâs first best friend might have come from SiberiaHumans and dogs have been together for thousands of years â but nobody knows exactly how long ago our friendship first began. Well, scientists in Russia may have found the answer, thanks to a perfectly preserved frozen puppy found buried in the permafrost of icy Siberia. The 18,000 year old dog, nicknamed âDogor,â was two months old at the time of freezing, and was identified as a puppy due to perfectly preserved teeth and fur. The age and condition of the dog will shed new light on the origins of our interspecies friendship, and may back up a crucial theory that dogs and humans bonded with one another during long migrations across Asia. The strangest part of all this? The puppy is still somehow kind of cute after thousands of years! Dogs never change, do they? Did you know dogs are as smart as two-year-old human children? Click or tap to learn more crazy dog facts. â |
