2-for-1 tickets to an orchestral concert like no other

Forget what you think you know about orchestral concerts — the London Symphony Orchestra's Half Six Fix does things differently. One hour, one piece of music — each event is a short yet spectacular shot of culture, served up in a casual setting with an appetite-whetting introduction from the conductor about what the music means to them.

For the next edition of Half Six Fix, on Wednesday 23 February, the LSO is joined by Barbara Hannigan for a spellbinding performance of Francis Poulenc's one-woman opera La voix humaine (The Human Voice), based on the Jean Cocteau play of the same name. Start your evening with drinks in the foyer and then bring your beverage into the Barbican Hall to see Hannigan take on the dual role of conductor and performer, with the action artfully magnified on giant screens.

Because Half Six Fix starts at — you guessed it — 6.30pm and lasts just an hour, afterwards you've still got a whole evening ahead of you for dinner, drinks, or whatever else tickles your fancy. Think of it as an aperitivo hour with a musical twist. Tickets start at £18, but we've scored you two for the price of one, so you and a pal can enjoy a world-class performance from just £9 each, plus booking fee.
