2021 Mid-Year Message from Centara’s Chief Executive Officer

Dear Valued Guest,

I sincerely hope that you and your families have stayed safe and well since my last message.

The past few months have been challenging, with second and third pandemic waves striking various countries around the world. However, as we reach the mid-year mark, we feel great optimism as vaccination campaigns have been gaining pace around the world and many countries are slowly lifting travel restrictions.

Thailand is gearing up to welcome vaccinated international travellers to Phuket imminently, without the need for quarantine on arrival. The stunning island province is set to open up safely to international tourists on 1st July 2021, soon to be followed by other destinations across the kingdom, including Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai in the coming months.

In anticipation of the much-awaited reopening of international borders, I am pleased to share that our employee vaccination rollout programme has advanced well across all our destinations. In fact, 100% of eligible staff working at our hotels and resorts in Phuket, Thailand – as well as in the Maldives and Doha, Qatar – have been fully vaccinated. This, along with our commitment to the certified Centara Complete Care health and hygiene programme across all our properties, means our guests can enjoy total peace of mind when staying with Centara

Especially during these challenging times, I am very proud to announce that we continue to grow, bringing our Centara brand and signature service to new destinations with planned openings imminent in Samui, as well as Vietnam and the UAE.

In August, we are thrilled to welcome travellers to Centara Reserve Samui, the first resort in our new curated collection of iconic, luxury hotels. We are also expanding our Centara Mirage brand with the opening of two family-centric resort destinations. July will see the unveiling of Centara Mirage Resort Mui Ne, a fully integrated Explorer’s Playground overlooking the East Sea in southern Vietnam; and our unique brand of entertainment and excitement will arrive in the UAE in October, with the much anticipated opening of Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai, a themed destination resort inspired by magical Thai and Arabian adventures.

For guests who are able to travel or work remotely, our teams have designed a number of appealing packages, including free night offers and long-stay specials at exciting destinations including the Maldives, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the Middle East, and across Thailand. International travellers planning their next holiday in Thailand can enjoy quarantine-free stays in our Phuket hotels and resorts starting 1st July, after which they will be free to visit other destinations across Thailand.
