Here are some of today's top headlines. 2024 crime stats: Crime in New Orleans plummeted in 2024, with murders falling to one of the city's lowest points since the 1970s and substantial reductions in nearly every other category. The declines line up with similar trends nationwide, but they were more pronounced in New Orleans. Jeff Adelson has more from the stats NOPD released Monday. 'No peace': More than 50 people were injured in the New Year's Day attack on Bourbon Street, according to the FBI's latest tally, and many of them have a long road ahead. At UMC, surgeries to repair the wounded continue. Six patients are still in the hospital. People in their 20s are learning to walk again. Emily Woodruff talked to some of the survivors about their paths to recovery and the night that changed them forever. Jazz Fest: It's almost that time of year again — producers of the 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival plan to reveal the big music lineup this week.
