Current Bitcoin Price: $21,238

Bitcoin price has soared 10% overnight, in a powerful rebound from recent lows. Price is currently cruising around the $21,000 mark.

Top-20 altcoins have also benefitted, as Ethereum and BNB each rise 5%, Solana gains 8% and Cosmos knocks on the door of the top-20 with an 18% advance.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) won't be taking its foot off the gas when pursuing crypto projects, says Enforcement Division Director Gurbir Grewal.

Crypto companies have criticized the SEC for a lack of clarity in its guidance and stifling innovation in the industry – however Grewal disagrees with the notion.

"We're not giving crypto a pass... We will continue to bring actions regardless of what technology is used."

A new law in France may allow authorities to freeze crypto assets that have the potential to be dispersed or laundered away. The measures would extend rules that apply to regular bank accounts to crypto holdings.

The United Kingdom already grants authorities similar powers, following the implementation of its Economic Crime Bill in May this year.

More crypto terminology has received mainstream acknowledgement, as dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster adds terms including "altcoin", "metaverse" and "unbanked".

Although parts of the definitions may be a slight disappointment to parts of the community, the move is another significant milestone in the broader acceptance of cryptocurrency worldwide.
