On this day in 1969, The Canberra Times updated readers on the development of a new nursing home set to open in 1971. The new establishment would have around 100 beds and would most likely be located in Narrabundah along Goyder Street. Once commissioned, the new home was set to provide urgently needed beds for elderly people in need of treatment as well as care.  READ MORE
