Get 25% off three spectacular shows at the Southbank Centre

Fancy soaking up some culture for less this spring/summer? We've secured big savings on not one, not two but THREE thrilling shows coming to the Southbank Centre in June and July, spanning boundary-pushing theatre and dance.

First up: The Land Acknowledgement or As You Like It — a subversive take on Shakespeare's comedy of divisions, which comes to Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of London's International Festival of Theatre (LIFT). Also part of LIFT 2024 is Nadia Beugré's L'Homme rare, an innovative exploration of Black masculinity through movement. Then, in July, it's time for some hip-hop dance battles in the form of Crazy Smooth: In My Body.

A Radical Shakespeare Retelling

From Shakespearean whimsy to the stark state of the reconciliation process between Canada's indigenous communities and its colonial settlers... this is As You Like It — but not as you know it. All the way from Toronto, Crow's Theatre presents an audacious adaptation by Cliff Cardinal, a playwright/actor/cultural provocateur of Cree and Lakota heritage. See it 5-9 June.

Movement Reframing Masculinity

Choreographer Nadia Beugré interrogates perceptions of gender and race in L'Homme rare, 12-13 June. This thought-provoking piece is executed by five Black male dancers, using solely their backs. Faces unseen, the audience is put in the position of voyeur, watching the men move in ways stereotypically associated with femininity.

Intergenerational Dance Battles

The hardship and heroism of ageing in street dancing takes centre stage in Crazy Smooth: In My Body, 18-20 July. An intergenerational group of nine dancers perform battles against time, feat. demanding choreography, original music by DJ Shash'U, and a powerful backdrop of the dancers' personal stories, as told to writer Alejandro Rodriguez.
