👉 SEC Wants To Freeze Binance.US Assets

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested a court to issue a temporary restraining order to freeze assets associated with Binance.US.

The SEC filed a lawsuit against Binance.US, Binance Global, and their founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao, accusing them of various compliance and control failures, including allegations that entities linked to Zhao had unauthorized access to funds belonging to Binance.US customers.

The SEC argues that the freezing of assets is necessary to protect customer assets and prevent the dissipation of available assets, given the defendants' history of violating regulations and evading oversight.

A public-private partnership in El Salvador has received the first $250 million of a $1 billion commitment to establish a Bitcoin mining farm.

The funding will be used to develop a 241-megawatt power generation park in El Salvador's Metapán region, with the aim of powering the Bitcoin mining operation using solar and wind energy.

Volcano Energy, the company behind the project, stated that the park will have a computing power estimated to exceed 1.3 exahashes per second, positioning it among the top 20 Bitcoin mining pools globally.
