Authorities expect all three to be in custody this afternoon. In the wake of Floyd killing, Somali youth on the front line of protests, community efforts. Since the news of Floyd’s death unfolded, young Somalis have been active in protests in ways they haven’t been in the past. Some went out to take part in rallies in and around the Twin Cities, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other African American protest leaders on the front line, and some other raised money for the medical supplies and protective gear for protesters. COVID-19 in Minnesota today: 25,870 confirmed cases, asymptomatic transmission among biggest challenges. Minnesota on Wednesday reported 372 new lab-confirmed cases and 14 new deaths tied to COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 1,086 since the pandemic arrived in Minnesota. State top health officials said the most recent statistics suggest smaller waves making their way through the population, but nothing’s definitive.
