CUSP International Conference 2023 - Utrecht
Registration deadline: 31st August

The deadline to register for the CUSP International Conference is fast approaching! Only a few places left!

About CUSP 2023 and how to register
On 14th September 2023, the five projects that form the European Research Cluster to Understand the Health Impacts of Micro- and NanoPlastics (CUSP) are meeting in Utrecht (NL), for the CUSP International Conference 2023

If you've already registered, we very much look forward to seeing you in Utrecht. Meanwhile, it would be appreciated if you could share this with any colleagues and contacts who may be interested.

About the event:
This event marks an important milestone to determine where we are and what challenges we still face in assessing the potential impact on human health of MNPs and associated additives and chemicals.

The conference will enable you to find out and discuss results achieved over two years' intensive research, not only within the CUSP Projects, but from affiliated initiatives, including COST Action CA20101 PRIORITY; BRIGID (Plastics Europe); MINAGRIS; and the MOMENTUM network. An expert panel discussion will allow you to examine implications for policy, industry, and civil society; and there will be plenty of opportunity for further knowledge exchanges and networking.

Content and format:
You'll hear from key experts on the state-of-the-art in human exposure, fate, health hazards, methodologies, risk assessment approaches, standardisation, and human biomonitoring, among other topics. You'll also gain valuable insight into the latest results from the CUSP projects and other initiatives,

Registration:

By registering for the conference you agree to pay the delegate fee of 40 € per person. The payment has to be made in advance and covers the conference costs.
Further details of how to make this payment will be provided later.
Due to the nature of this event, online participation will not be possible.

About CUSP
There is widespread scientific evidence on the ubiquity of micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) in our environment. The tiny particles which result from the degradation of larger plastics or which are manufactured and added to products for different purposes find their way into the human body through the food we eat, the water we drink or the very air we breathe. Yet, so far, we know little about the risks they pose to human health.

For this reason, the European Commission has decided to fund five research projects - AURORA, ImpToxPLASTICHEAL, PlasticsFatE and POLYRISK - that together form the European Research Cluster to Understand the Health Impacts of Micro- and NanoPlastics: CUSP. They will collaborate in gathering policy-relevant scientific data to improve the risk assessment of MNPs on human health.
