Court revives vaccine rule for companies

The US Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit has lifted an injunction issued last month that blocked the Biden administration's COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements for businesses with 100 or more workers. According to the ruling, OSHA has "demonstrated the pervasive danger that COVID-19 poses to workers -- unvaccinated workers in particular -- in their workplaces."

The latest annual report by the Financial Stability Oversight Council indicates that many Americans have regained their financial security thanks to government COVID-19 relief programs, but some, especially those in sectors greatly affected by the pandemic, remain in financial distress. The report's findings include the ratio of households' debt to disposable income dropping "well below its 2007 peak and slightly below pre-pandemic levels," and a record high in household net worth after a 5.6% decline during the first quarter of 2020.

Florida's manatee population has declined this year, due in part to water pollution that kills seagrass, the animals' main food source, but state wildlife officials are addressing the problem with a new temporary feeding program, the first of its kind.
