Bye bye, birdie: Parrots removed from zoo after they learn new words Everyone knows parrots can talk — but do you know what they like talking about? As it turns out, parrots love to watch how people react to the sounds they mimic. If one sees you laughing at what they said, they’re more likely to repeat it. What’s more, they’ll even teach other parrots words they learn. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work out for the best. A U.K. zoo recently transferred their parrots to another location thanks to the colorful vocabulary they managed to pick up. The birds learned some curse words a few years ago, and since have picked up some more doozies. Every time they make someone laugh, the parrots got the message they needed to keep cussing. Now they constantly let the expletives fly. Damn it! Ever wonder how parrots sound exactly like humans? It’s all about the lungs, of course. Tap or click here to see why parrots are the master mimics of the animal kingdom. → |
