After coaching over 1,500 high performers this year…

My biggest “A-Ha” moment has been this:

The most successful people in my programs are the ones who are MOST prepared.

“Nothing wins more often than superior preparation. Genius is usually preparation.”
– Kekich Credo #73

If your energy is low and you’re hungry all day, it’s because you didn’t plan your diet right.

If you are not winning your mornings, it’s because your preparation is not sufficient.

If you are not having effective workouts, it’s because you didn’t plan properly.

If a meeting is inefficient it’s because you didn’t prepare enough.

You must be the most prepared person in every situation.

Proper planning and preparation is key for your success.

This holds true whether you're an athlete like Michael Jordan, a CEO entering negotiations, a parent chauffeuring around five children, or a new dad getting ready for the arrival of his little girl.

That’s why better Planning & Preparation is the 1st Pillar of Success from my book, The Perfect Day Formula.

And the easiest place to apply this principle for the fastest (literally overnight) wins...

… is planning your days the evening before.

As you close out your work day — use my 3-step system of:

Brain Dump > Priority To-Do List > Process Planning

...to make it easy for you to wake-up and follow through.

In case you forgot what this looks like, here’s a quick refresher for you…

1. Brain Dump

Get everything that’s on your mind, both personal and professional, out of your head and down on paper.

If something doesn’t really need to be done, mentally release the task and let it go.

If it does need to happen, write next to it when it will be done and who will do it (you or someone else).

Just this step alone will give you instant relief and help you sleep better.

2. Priority To-Do List

Now take any items from your brain dump that must be done the next day…

Add in your non-negotiables like date night, a workout, reading time, etc. ...

Then number each task from most to least important.

Use this to create tomorrow’s schedule inside whatever calendar system you use.

Just make sure the first thing you tackle each day is the #1 thing you can do to reach your goals in business and life.

3. Process Planning

This is where the magic starts to happen…

Figure out small things you can do to make that #1 most important task a little easier tomorrow.

Have an email or report to write?

Try jotting down bullets to some of the key points.

Project to work on in the AM?

You could have whatever documents or websites you’ll need already open and ready on your computer.

The point is to reduce friction and make transitioning to these tasks as quick and seamless as possible.

---

Now, if you’re thinking this sounds extremely simple…

You’re right, it is! That's why it works.

Planning and preparation doesn’t have to be complicated.

When you implement these 3 steps and plan for success...

You’ll win your morning...

And own the day.

Success Loves Speed,

Craig
