Archaeologists have found four Roman coins dating back to around 400 A.D. while excavating the ruins of an ancient Japanese castle, and they are puzzled about how the coins got there. While Katsuren Castle had been known to be a center of trade, there had not been a link to Europe until the discovery of these coins, officials say.
