United Airlines is trending on an upbeat forecast.
The company and two other major US airlines raised their revenue forecast for the current quarter this morning, and investors are taking it as a sign that the industry's pandemic-induced funk may be fading for good.
United, Delta Airlines, and Southwest Airlines reported strong demand for air travel in the quarter, and the news allayed some of the market's concerns about the Russia-Ukraine war's impact on revenues.
UAL is leading the S&P 500 with a 3.4% gain in today's premarket.
Hycroft Mining Holding Corp. [HYMC] - Last Close: $1.39
Hycroft Mining is surging on news of an odd couple investment deal.
This morning, movie theater operator and meme stock AMC Entertainment announced a plan to acquire 22% of Hycroft Mining. The theater operator will also receive 23.4 million warrants, which will give them the option to purchase additional shares at $1.07.
In return, AMC will invest $27.9 million in cash in Hycroft in exchange for 23,408,240 shares and the same amount in warrants.
Hycroft currently holds the 71,000-acre Hycroft Mine in northern Nevada. Independent third-party studies confirm that the Hycroft Mine has some 15 million ounces of gold resources and some 600 million ounces of silver resources.
Another major gold & silver investor, Eric Sprott, will match AMC's contribution with an $27.9 million investment of its own under a nearly identical deal.
HYMC is today's most active premarket stock, and it's up 87.1%.
