Starline Becomes Distributor for P5 in DACHExciting news! The successful cooperation between Archiware and Starline has reached a new level. From mid-March 2022, Starline will take over the distribution of Archiware P5 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as a value-added partner. Legacy Media, Old Codecs and How to Deal with Them –3 Tips to Preserve Your MediaIt's easy to forget how many codecs become obsolete over time. Even codes that were once popular become outdated, while some cameras used their own codecs and thus became part of the workflow. When it comes to Apple and Adobe, older codecs are no longer playable on newer systems. Priority is set on newer codecs, which are more efficient, provide higher resolutions and better quality at lower bandwidth and file size. How do you find legacy media and codecs and what can you do about them? Depending on your situation, there are two different answers: If you have your files on disks, find the ones affected and transcode them.
