4 killed in tragic Slidell fire. And a new 'superbug'

By Bob Warren

Deadly fire: It was a tragic scene this morning in the Slidell area, where four members of a family died in an overnight house fire. The fire chief described a chaotic scene, where firefighters fought through heavy smoke to search for the victims in the two-story house. Here’s the latest from Sara Pagones and Brett Duke.

More on crime: Everybody's talking about crime and we'll have more coverage on it today. Matt Sledge had this story about the recent carjackings and homicides and the finger-pointing that it’s generated. And Missy Wilkinson had this wrap-up of a violent Tuesday.

'Superbug': We’re still in the battle with COVID, but today we have news about a drug-resistant fungus – Candida auris – that has now made an appearance in Louisiana. Ugh.

No Limit: Some of the No Limit Records artists will reunite for a concert in New Orleans later this spring. Master P, Mystikal, Silkk The Shocker and others will be at the Smoothie King Center on April 22.

Because it's Carnival time: Getting ready for Mardi Gras? Here’s everything you need to know about Carnival 2022.

Comeback kids: Finally, a couple of comeback stories to wrap us up today. Grand Isle was battered by Hurricane Ida, but things are picking up there. Ditto Destrehan High School, which reopened to students Tuesday.

Hope you enjoyed Lunch Line today. Thanks for taking a break with us.
