Yield10 Bioscience [YTEN] - Last Close: $2.10
Yield10 Bio has a powerful new ally.
The company entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitsubishi Corp. to evaluate a potential partnership to supply & market biofuels.
Under the MOU, the companies will conduct a feasibility study on the supply of Camelina oil from grain grown using Yield10's proprietary seed genetics.
Mitsubishi hopes to use Yield10's Camelina grain to supply oil for its sustainable aviation fuel.
The companies will also explore the development and marketing of bioplastics composed by Yield10 as an added value co-product with biofuels.
The MOU Is non-binding and expires at the end of 2023. Shares of YTEN are up 66.7% on active premarket trading volume.
My Take: If this MOU results in a deal, YTEN could see big gains in the months ahead. However, after today's rally, a lot of the good news may be priced into the stock at this point.
Akerna [KERN] - Last Close: $0.99
Akerna just unloaded a major asset, and shares are rallying on the news.
Late Wednesday, the software company said it made a deal to sell its 365 Cannabis unit to The NAV People, doing business as 365 Holdco.
Akerna said it received about $2.8 million worth of consideration under the terms of the sale agreement, including a $500,000 upfront cash payment.
News of the sale catapulted KERN to the top of the charts. It's this morning's top premarket stock with a 64.6% gain.
My Take: This was a nice pop for the stock, but I don't know if it really changes anything for KERN's long-term outlook. This is a very tiny stock so I would expect to see a lot of volatility in the days ahead.
Expion360 [XPON] - Last Close: $1.58
A product update is boosting shares of Expion360.
The advanced battery-maker introduced two new products this morning, the Aura Powercap 600 and the Aura Powercap 800.
Expion360 says the new units allow users to convert e360 Li-ion batteries into portable power stations capable of charging 120-volt and 12-volt devices.
The new products also allow users to recharge their e360 units via an included 7-amp 120-volt household charger or a 120-watt portable solar panel kit.
Expion360 has begun taking pre-orders for the products and expects to ship them starting in the second quarter of 2023.
XPON is one of the morning's top performers with a 48.1% gain.
My Take: XPON has shown some signs of life over the past few weeks, and today's rally could help it break above resistance at $2.50.
MultiMetaVerse [MMV] - Last Close: $2.635
MultiMetaVerse is moving higher after announcing a key acquisition.
The metaverse company announced this morning that it signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire a 72.8% stake in Orient TM Parent, aka Taomee.
Orient TM Parent is an interactive entertainment group in China that's currently controlled by Orient TM Ruibo.
If the transaction is completed, it would broaden MultiMetaVerse's intellectual property portfolio and income base.
Both groups utilize similar business models, so additional synergies are also expected.
Terms of the deal weren't immediately disclosed, but shares are moving higher on the news. MMV is up 22.3% in the premarket.
My Take: MMV has been extremely volatile since completing its SPAC-backed listing just a few days ago. If you're planning on getting into this one, buckle up for a very wild ride.
