NATIONAL: The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation has announced a new $5 million, multiyear commitment and action plan to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the hotel industry. Under the direction of a newly created task force, the group aims to diversify representation at the leadership level and across all talent levels, as well as develop an inclusion-focused blueprint for the industry.

LAS VEGAS: Finger Licking Foodie Tours has partnered with ARIA Resort & Casino for a pandemic-friendly dining experience. The two-hour, self-guided tour begins at 5 p.m. daily and is designed for a minimum of two people to enjoy a three-course meal from three of the resort’s most sought-after restaurants–Carbone, Jean Georges Steakhouse and Javier’s.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Miami-based Mixology Mixer has launched a selection of virtual team-building experiences to kick-start team morale for 2021. Offerings include a virtual workout class, coffee and chocolate tastings, and more, including a Paint & Sip experience where team members bond over drinking wine and painting their own tumbler glasses, which are delivered to guests along with paints, glitter and glue. 

ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: Walt Disney World has partnered with digital signage company Xpodigital to launch HelloHybrid, a virtual hotel meeting and event experience. The offering allows event planners to create hybrid experiences that are conducive to the current demand for flexibility and streaming into public areas, hotel guestrooms, recreational facilities and remote locations. HelloHybrid includes a Virtual Presenter platform, which allows remote presenters and event attendees to connect.

SAN FRANCISCO: Hubilo, a global virtual and hybrid event platform, has announced a $23.5 million Series A investment to help accelerate the development of the platform and increase its focus on enabling businesses to develop stronger, longer-term relationships with their customers. The investment was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Balderton Capital.
