| | | | The 49th Poetry International Festival Rotterdam wouldn't be the same without an international audience. Just press play to attend. | |
29 May - 2 June | |
| | | | | | We are looking forward to connecting with you via live streaming.
In order to discuss this year’s theme, the Nation of Poetry, our festival poets – no doubt many unheard in your ears as yet, and of the total number, more than half are women – will speak their truths in Rotterdam. Coming from Egypt, Jamaica, Burma, Mexico, and also Switzerland and other European countries, and the US, their voices will sound in several spaces and venues in the city. We don't want you to miss out – so the festival’s evening readings will be available on live streaming.

This week, we received the sad news that festival poet Patricia Lockwood had to cancel her appearance at the festival due to family circumstances. We wish her a lot of strength and hope to receive her at the extra festive 50th edition next year. Her lecture on Saturday 2 June will be taken over by Marlene van Niekerk from South Africa.
