Hey,

Today I want to get straight to the point and give you five simple and actionable ways to instantly boost your discipline this week.

They are...

1. Create a Not-To-Do List (And Take It Seriously)

Despite what you hear from the motivational YouTube videos and rah rah gooroos...

Discipline is a game of subtraction, not addition.

Forget ice baths, ultra marathons, and 2-hour meditation sessions.

If you really want more discipline in your life, it all starts by cutting the habits, activities, and behaviors that don't serve you.

Sometime today...

Sit down and make a list of all the things holding you back from your #1 goal...

...And commit to NOT doing them (simple, but not easy)

Don't just focus on "obvious" things like drinking on weeknights, binge watching Netflix before bed, or hitting snooze.

Think about the "positive" parasites eating away at your time, attention, and energy and distracting you from what you really want.

Things like podcast interviews on small shows, responding to customer service emails, writing your own blog posts...

Because even though these things might feel productive...

They're aren't moving the needle forward where it really matters.

When you can automate, delegate, or eliminate 90% of the habits and activites that aren't directly related to your big vision... success becomes almost automatic.

2. Unsubscribe from 5 Email Lists (Just not this one ;)

It'll take you less than 30-seconds but will save a ton of mental and emotional bandwidth each month.

99% of emails are nothing but a distraction.

They don't teach you anything.

They don't challenge your thinking or push you to a higher level of performance.

They're just well-placed ads dressed up like a newsletter.

Stop giving them your time and attention (even if it's just the 2-seconds it takes to hit "delete") and your days will improve immediately.

3. TOSS the Junk Food and Booze

Literally...

If it's in your house right now, put it in a bag and take it to the curb.

When you remove the physical temptations from your environment, you make discipline automatic.

Tonight... when you get that craving for a sugary treat or "just one" drink (that turns into three drinks and a hangover)

You literally won't be able to give into the temptation unless you get in your car and drive to the store.

The more distance you can put between yourself and your vices...

The easier it will be to say "no" and act like the disciplined operator I know you are.

4. Turn Off All Notifications on Your Phone and Computer

Because whatever it is... it can wait.

And if it really is urgent, you'll get a phone call... not a Facebook or text message.

When you're constantly being interuppted by other people's agendas for your time and schedule...

You'll never make the space necessary for truly exceptional deep work to occur.

Eliminate the distractions and temptations and your discipline will skyrocket.

5. Treat Yourself

Seriously...

Discipline isn't about depriving yourself of everything that brings you joy.

It's about creating the structures and routines required to live the life you really want.

So as you continue to develop your discipline and move closer to your big goals...

Don't forget to step back and reward yourself for your hard work every once in a while.

Whether it's a weekly massage you get after hitting your workouts...

A "lazy Saturday" where you give yourself permission to watch your favorite movies or go grab drinks with friends...

Or indulging in a new "toy" or experience after you hit a big milestone...

Find little ways to reward yourself for positive behavior.

It makes a big difference in the long run.

To Your Success,
Craig
