For many students, it feels like there is no coming back from getting an “F” on a paper. University of Utah President Taylor Randall got an “F” on his first English paper when he was a student at the school, but with the prodding of a kind but challenging professor and the courage to try, he was able to earn a B+ after rewriting it four times. The opportunity to rework his paper gave him confidence to write and taught him one of many important lessons he learned during his time as a student at the University of Utah. 

What is a ‘Women’s Bill of Rights’ and is it necessary?

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes joined nine other Republican Attorneys General in an effort to urge states to adopt a common definition of the terms “girl,” “woman” and “mother." The document entitled the “Women’s Bill of Rights” would seek to affirm single sex spaces like restrooms, locker rooms and domestic violence centers “where biology, safety, and/or privacy are implicated.”

This comes on the coattails of HB11 which the Utah Legislature passed earlier this year. The bill bans transgender girls from competing on girls teams at public schools which has drawn attention from groups like the ACLU.
