| | New pedestrian crossing on Cockburn Road, Coogee At the end of this month, Main Roads WA, with funding from the State Government, will start constructing a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights on Cockburn Road in Coogee. This safety improvement is expected to be completed by the end of March. Flashing signals will be installed on both approaches to alert road users of the upcoming pedestrian crossing. Additional enhancements include widening the Cockburn Road median strip and extending the left-turn pocket into Powell Road. Day and night works are scheduled to accommodate the busy nature of the route. Road users should anticipate temporary traffic management measures, speed restrictions, and occasional footpath closures. Advanced notice will be provided for any necessary road closures or detours to minimise inconvenience. |
