Maybe it's the multiple tasks that must be completed to participate in the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) recertification process, known as Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Or maybe it's a little bit of both. The ABMS MOC program has come under heavy criticism from physicians, frustrated by the increasing requirements and cost to comply with the program.
