Use MIPS Data and Scores to Tailor Your 2019 Strategy

Have you reviewed your MIPS Preliminary Performance Feedback Data yet? CMS released this information in June and now is the time to prepare.

Join us at one of the Quality Payment Program Boot Camps to learn the policies that CMS adopted in 2018 for Year 2 of the QPP. We'll show you how to use this feedback data to revamp your MIPS efforts for Coverage Year 2018 attestation. Some tips that we'll cover during the boot camp include:

Work the benchmarks - develop a strategy to monitor benchmarks and ensure you are surpassing the national average
Don’t report everybody - your filings have to reflect 60% of your patient population - pick which patients you want to report
Just because you can report it doesn’t mean you have to - you don’t have to report every measure you’re eligible for — or every method
Explore QCDR measures - QCDR doesn’t rely on CMS’ measures — it develops measures tailored to a specialty or subspecialty group
Get proactive - you should develop a plan that addresses issues and shortfalls with your patients.
Think about cost - The MIPS cost measure is 10% of your score this year and will go up to 30% soon! Think about changes that will affect the overall spend on beneficiaries
