NATIONAL: Actress and producer Taraji P. Henson will host the 2020 American Music Awards, airing live on ABC on Nov. 22. The Dick Clark Productions-produced event, billed as the world's largest fan-voted award show, will be filmed at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Nominees include The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga. AUSTIN: Tickets for SXSW Online, South by Southwest's new virtual experience taking place March 16-20, 2021, go on sale Nov. 10. The festival will have keynotes, conference sessions, musical showcases, film screenings, and more, all in a digital setting; a $149 ticket covers the entire event. SXSW is also hoping to host a physical component to the 2021 event, with details to be announced at a later date. NEW YORK: JACX&CO, a new food hall in Long Island City, will open Nov. 11. Located inside Tishman Speyer's new 1.2-million-square-foot creative campus, the food hall features a versatile mix of culinary options, all of which will be open for indoor dining at 25% capacity. A full-service bar and outdoor dining will open soon. OMAHA, NEB: The 32nd annual Palm Springs International Film Festival has been postponed to 2022. Organizers still plan to host the Film Awards Presentation on Feb. 25, 2021, as well as Palm Springs ShortFest on June 22-28, 2021. PALM SPRINGS, CALIF: Kimpton plans to open its first property in Nebraska later this month. The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel is a $75 million reinvention of the Blackstone Hotel; it will have 205 guest rooms including 31 suites, plus an expansive pool club, a steakhouse, a rooftop terrace for events, and more.
